Floatilla 3.... is it safe to go in the water?dum dum. dum dum dum. Yes... it's here again... the fun in the sun (or rain), big gay HK weekend. Kicks off Saturday with Gay Day at Disney (round 3 also, please remember to wear RED t-shirts), and continues through Floatilla and all the pre and post parties that go with it. Mr. Sharkbait has kindly put together a package with important details about Floatilla. If you didn't get the PDF, then download it here ( http://outinhk.com/files/AttendeeFloatillahkf08.pdf )! Anyway... I am sending out my usual email, so won't go on about it too much here.
New to HKHiya: New to Hong Kong, just arrived from the States in January. Came out late in life (I'm 49), was married but am now divorced. So, I'm settling into a new life, want to make some friends, have fun and explore the social scene in Hong Kong which is very different than New York. I went to Club 97 on Friday night at 8:30 and it was empty. Where do people go and how can I meet other professional gay men.
"Across The Universe" Got It AcrossAs an 80’s baby, I never really knew what it was like to live in the hippy era; what the revolution was all about; why the Beatles was definitive of their generation; and what profundity was hidden in their songs. Thanks to the wonderful brain of Julie Taymor, the same brain that brought us “Frida†and “The Lion Kingâ€, I now understand a little better.
My ski trip with Kevin at TahoeHello from Califonia/Nevada! I know this has nothing to do with Hong Kong, but Kevin and I are taking a vacation, skiing at Lake Tahoe for the week, and we are staying at a Bed and Breakfast that is just SO lovely I have to mention it, recommend it, to anyone who has the opportunity to come here. The name of the place is Black Bear Bed and Breakfast http://www.tahoeblackbear.com/ It's run by a very friendly couple, Gerry and Kevin, who go the extra mile to make you feel at home. They built the place from scratch, and you can tell they have really put a lot of heart into it.
looking for gay accomodation in AugustHi people, Thanks Antonio for making this site available ! We're two guys who will be heading back home from a month in Europe in August - on our way home to Melbourne, Australia. We're stopping over in HK to break the journey and to see a teensy weensy bit of Asia - but we'll be tired and broke. Does anyone know of reasonable accomodation in terms of quality, price and gay friendliness? Would appreciate any advice! email to daryl@davidhornsby.com.au Daryl
Post your own blog and have it show on OUTinHKIn my mission to make HK 600% more gay, I am always looking for new ways to enhance our gay experience. This is of course the whole reason for OUTinHK. Which is why, I have set up a blog and photo system that you can participate in. For instance, if you were fortunate enough to make it to Ryan or Joe's big birthday parties last night, you: a.) probably wont be awake yet, b.) may have lost your mobile, wallet, camera, way home... or c.) can now share with the world what they missed, or cant remember through your own blog and or by posting your photos in a gallery.
OutinHK Inaugural Gay Saturday Morning Run!Big thanks to Tony for organising OutinHK inaugural gay Saturday morning run! We had a fabulous time... that is time spent watching all the topless runners (men only though! Get the girls out!). I'll have to remember to bring some shades the next time... I'm not sure HK runners are ready for all the staring! But seriously we had a good 30 minutes run with great scenary and even more FAB company. What else can a girl ask for?
Farewell Summer!Wouldn't it be great if we could have a big party to say goodbye to the summer heat? And wouldn't it be fab, if the party was something like Floatilla, where gay boys and gay girls, and their admirers could all participate? And what if this 'Floatilla' were to run ashore... and take over a beach (on Hong Kong Island), a 'Gay Invasion', if you will. I will keep you posted if I hear of such an event ;0) Tonio
Hey hey, gay BombayMan it feels good to be back in Hong Kong. Went to Mumbai for an adventurous week last week, and it was a real reminder how good we have it in Hong Kong. There are 13 billion people (and counting) in India, and yet not enough to have a decent gay bar (or even coffee shop would do) in one of the biggest metropolitan centres, Mumbai. I did get a chance to go to 'gay night' at Voo Doo Bar. Not as happening as the reviews would have it. In fact, there was a real sense of desperation in the air. Even more than you would likely find at Propaganda on a Sat night.
